I wish to find a home based job/career that guarantees a minimum pay of $3500 (dreaming/hallucinating, huh???),,,, no benefits necessary... I'd like to homeschool the boys until they're about sophomore.... just to escape the intermediate & mid-school years in the public school system.

  1. Independent case manager or Medical transcription are possibilities. What are your talents and skills? Music lessons, pet training or grooming can be done out of a modified home or a trailer out back..You could start a small home daycare or kid's consignment store, but that may be distracting. Other than that, a job with a more flexible schedule and a supportive family member may better suit your needs.

  2. mmmm i doubt that much but foster care day care kennel doing peoples wash and ironing becoming baker not sure well good luck

  3. yep, you're dreaming.

Why not put them into a private school. Sure you have to opay the costs, but I'm sure your job that currently pays you $3500 every month can afford a private school.

Unless you want to pay out that same amount of money to START your own home based business. You have to find your own clients, buy inventory & supplies, get some training, pay for taxes, and advertising and probably pay for a business license.  In a year it will be making money, but not when you start up.

IF you really want a job where you can work from home and get paid every month by an employer, the bad news is that  there are NO such LEGITIMATE jobs.

  4. Watch out for any "work at home" advertisements that want you to put up money.  They are scams.

Watch out for work from home jobs that sound too good to be true.  They are scams.

Goodle JetBlue.  It has been a while back but I remember an article about their customer service and reservation agents working from home.  Look at whatever employment section they have on their site.

Also a while back but I remember goodle advertising for work at home jobs - non-technical... a place to watch anyway.

It is my dream to be an employer of work-from-home homeschool moms, dads and students.  Not there yet, however.

Just as colleges have realized, I know there is an incredible talent pool that is untapped.

I subcontract occasionally but that is all right now.

I recently joined a discussion group that might help... even on this site you still get the WAHM-Scams.

WAHM = work at home mom.

  5. Other than starting your own company with whatever skills you have, something that will enable you to contract out for that kind of money, I really don't know. That's probably one of those things that are in the "hidden job market". Do you have a career counselling centre or anything like that where you live?

If you are making $3500 gross right now, you probably could get something that pays less. Working through home will mean deductions and you'll end up paying less tax. Not to mention you'll have less travel expense in getting to and from work each day.

Another option: make connections with homeschooling families and see if your boys could homeschool with one of them.

Just a note: if you are planning on having them homeschooled for their freshman year, make sure the high school you plan on putting them in will accept their work or go through an online public school. More than one homeschooler has essentially had to repeat a grade in order to be in a public high school because the school wouldn't recognize that they'd done the work and wouldn't let them test out of it.
