I want to reduce my energy consumption bill by improving PF.Also what is relation among MFD and KVAR Please answer.

  1. Follow the link below to compute the capacitors needed to improve your power factor.

    Capacitor and PF calculator: ttp://www.peakpwr.com/powertriangle.htm

    In the drop down box, select the "Calculation Method" of kW, PF and new PF.  You will need to enter your PF values as 80 and 90.

    From the data you have furnished, you'll need 0.53 kVAR.


  2. I would say you will not improve your bill even iff you improve your PF.  If you are a residential customer in the US, your billing is based on actual power and inductive power is not billed.
