I want to increase my internet speed and video loading speed using ping? Help please.

My internet is going really slow. I thought you could help me figure out why and how I could increase it using ping in command prompt. Help me! Thanks!!!

PS-- I am using a Windows XP, have AVG, no virus etc, and no unneeded apps except maybe need for speed underground 2.

Ping is a tool for testing connectivity - not adjusting it. I don't see how you can do anything with Ping, except test the speed of the connection.

The best way for a home user to test an Internet connection is to:

1) Check how fast your connection is supposed to be according to your ISP subscription

2) Test your real speed using any of the THOUSANDS of sites that do this for you. Just Google for "Internet Speed Test"

3) Test with another site or two to be sure. There can be vast discrepancies.

4) When you have an average speed, call your ISP and complain if there's a major difference.

5) Sit back and wait for it to get faster.
