Like I'm sick of paying electric companies all this money but I just don't know how to go about setting up a solar energy system.

  1. It is not too hard to install a system if you get a kit system. The only problem is the upfront cost but it does pay you back after so many years. Even without grants or incentives. And you are not renting your power and can sell the system with you home when you move. That way it pays for it's self in free electric and you might even make more money from the home sales because it has solar on it.

  2. There are many commercial companies out there that will design and install them for you..

Since you apparenty do not know much about it  I would suggest usinging one.

  3. I do not know if you are in the UK, but if you are, we got ours from Navitron. Have a look at their site, you may be able to get a grant for installation. They were fantastic with us and talked us through all the different technical details to self install.

  5. Batteries for storage, inverter to change dc to ac and a transfer switch........ if you set up solar it is estimated to take 12-15 years to break even before you can start saving money.
