  1. Just insert disc and a box will open up, just follow the wizard and put in serial number that came with software.  Youe older version should not give you any hassle and microsoft will override it.

  2. You buy an XP Pro CD, put it in the CD drive and install it. It really is that simple.

Is there any reason that you actually need XP Pro ? Most users don't need any of the extra functionality.

  3. needed 1 P pro cd

    boot with cd choose upgrade

  4. No real reason to do that - Pro only gives the ability to add to a domain with a few extra security bits in.

Check the link - maybe that will help...

    Remember to backup any data.

  5. To be honest, Media centre edition is far the best out of of the 3 (home, pro, or media)

You won't notice any difference in media to pro except that media has a different colour scheme which is nice and you wont have the media centre bit in pro. I really wouldnt bother switching to another one but if you have to then just pop in a xp pro disk into your cd drive and basically follow the easy instructions. it will take an hour or so to install and windows updates will make it take longer.

    Good luck
