I want to invite my guy friend to my birthday party but....?

the only time I see him is in 1st period where he doesnt really talk to me. He talks to his other friends, and I don't really know them that well. I don't know how I can give the invitation to him because I'm really shy, but we're pretty good friends(just friends) I'm in 10th grade by the way.
