I want to join a divine 9 sorority but....PLEASE HELP!!?

Okay I want to join a membership in a divine 9 sorority at my school. A lot of people say that you have to go to the event get to know the members and get known well to try to even get a bid although I am at a university I still stay in my home town and at home and I do not have any friends on campus but a lot of them off campus they do not or are not interested and any college events I am in the middle of wanting to have this college experience of joining a sorority and my real life of growing up in living in not so good neighborhoods(not by choice either) how do I start trying to go to event if my friends are not accepted and or do not want to go I am to afraid of going anywhere social by myself. Also well they look down on me for not have friends on campus although I do a lot of off campus things

If anything, it will look better that you DO do thing on campus, especially if you are involved in the community! You are going to have to open up a whole lot more before you can even think about joining a sorority. With joining comes a whole new world of experiences that you can't even imagine and if you aren't open to them, you  won't get the full benefit. Just go to some events and see what happens! You might be surprised! I did the same thing and joined my sorority. I didn't know anyone and was a loner!! I wanted to stay in my room and play on the computer all day because I was afraid of meeting new people.  It isn't an NPHC sorority but its  a NALFO sorority. Now, I have 30 plus woman who I am so proud to call my sisters and I wouldn't have it any other way! I am definitely not the same person I was 8 years ago and I am so much happier and more outgoing!! Good luck and I promise it will all be worth it in the end!!
