I am a US citizen, married, 36 years old, physically fit, married, previous British Army experience, self employed, mortgage, one small baby son.

But my wife states that If I left for war then we'd lose my home, business as I'm the main bread winner.

Does the US government pay my mortgage whilst I am on active duty and pay any hardship benefits to my wife, if so then I am prepared to join.

  1. Besides BAH, you'll get paid so much for just being married and you get paid a set amount per child. Also you're wife and child will have access to any military base as soon as they get their ID cards. You'll get paid family separation pay, and if sent to a war zone you'll hazardous duty pay plus your regular pay.

  2. Yes, if you are deployed then your family gets a housing allowance and you will receive combat pay.

  3. they will pay your wife money, when a soldier is deployed they pay the wife some kind of separation pay and if you die they will pay her money for life

  4. No they don't pay your mortgage and the pay you receive is standard and then if you deploy (depending on your MOS and duties) you will get separation pay, combat pay, pro pay, and some hazardous duty pay! If you are joining for the pay then you are joning for the wrong reasons, so stay home!

  5. To some extent, go talk to a recruiter.

They will pay you BAH, basic housing allowance. Which depends on your rank but will pay at a minimum of somewhere at like $400 a month for housing while you're deployed.
