  1. Join anyways, they will improve the running for you while you are in basic training.  If you want to improve before you join...try sprinting for 60 seconds then jog for 30, then repeat..do this for 30 min...should improve your running.  Make sure you get all the money you can from the Army, and get the job and location you want...they say you cant do that but they can.

  2. Wake up every morning around 6 while its still cool outside and go for a jog i say about 2 miles and everyday u can run harder and faster and longer.I used to run track and field and cross country and when i trained for it i would run atleast 2-3 times a day.Always running harder and faster for a longer time, and it worked. But don't over work yourself.Untill you get the hang of it i say just run at a comfortable pace!

    Good Luck!

  3. join a gym and get on the running machine - if you could afford even one session with a personall trainer they could defo help you. good luck

  4. Try Fhartleck training, this is were you run till you are running heavily for 3 minutes, then jog till you have got your breathing down to normal then start running again till you are breathing heavily again for another 3 minutes and so on, you may need to walk instead of jogging to begin with, but you will be amazed how quickly your running improves, I would also advise to run for 2 days then 1 day of rest. If you are finding that you are struggling with your cardio-vascular, then try putting in 2 good swims a week, a great way to improve your lung capacity. Also try moving to a lower fat, high protein diet to maximise your results, try eating a couple of bananas straight after a work out to replace lost carbohydrates and salts. Also a good 8 hours sleep on a regular basis is good to promote recovery. Good luck with getting in the army.

  5. I had to opposite problem. When the Army called me up, I couldn't run away fast enough.

  6. Are you sure you wanna join? they'll send you to Afghanistan which can't be much fun!!!
