I want to join the cross country team....what should I do?

Any tips to get in shape? This is my first time and anything I should know about the sport. Our school has a really rigorous team.

  1. If you are serious about it then you should do it. but im warning you, its tough stuff. Its really hard and if your not gonna stick with it then don't do it. Its fun too go to meets and meet a bunch of new people though.

  3. I would start to build my tolerance of running long distances, since that is what cross country is all about.

    It's not so much as running, but doing exercises, as well.

    Exercising the right muscles will help you, especially in running and keeping pace.

    If I were you, I would go to the head coach of the cross country team and tell them that you are interested in being part of the team.

    Since the fall season has not started yet, ask what you can to prepare yourself, so that when fall arrives, you will be ready.

    Remember, what you get, is what you put into it.

  4. you should run aton and for long distances to get you body inshape for long distance races.  you should also do alot of sit ups. Girls on my team do alot of sit ups and have riped abs.  Another thing is do your research on the sport.  learn the equipment you need and what events there are.

  5. If you want to join the cross country team run on your spare time and over time you will get better
