  1. You need like a 50 to get a good range of jobs. Study on it. Generally you score 10-15 more on the real test so you're looking at a 33 or so without studying. Study online and stuff. Take practice test from military.com and stuff.

As for your job selection. What do you want to do in the navy? I'm a master at arms. That's dealing with security and anti-terrorism. I basically will train k-9 dogs and such. What are you interested in? Want to be a mechanic? Want to weld repairs on the ship? Want to deal with electronics? Let me know and I can help you.

  2. Not many "good" jobs are avalible with that low of a score. One thing you want to do is study HARD for the ASVAB so that you have more options when you actually enlist.

But as for your question. Navy SEALs are a good choise as they teach you everything from Weapons (Gunsmithin, owning a gun store), survival (Explorer), Foreign Language (Government Translator), Technology (Tech jobs), and physical strenght (Athlete, personal trainer, High School Coach), and combat experiance (you could be a Private Military Contractor for Blackwater and get paid $600 a day).

It all depends on what you want to do after your enlistment is over.

  3. Computers, anything to do with computers will give you a marketable skill when you are back in civilian life.  Military Police

  4. join the army trust me you'll thank me later

  5. wow a 20 you look like your goin nowhere in life no offence but thats sad

join the marines i am not saying anything bad about the navy just...anyway i think you should look it jet mechanic

  6. While the practice ASVAB scores are typically 5 - 10 points lower than when you take the real one.  To be honest, you need to delay your plans and go take some general education classes and work to improve your score.  With a score in even the low 30's (which is the minimum you need anyway) you are not going to be qualified for any of the really good jobs that you are probably thinking of.

Realistically with a score that low you are only going to have a couple of choices with the primary one being a cook (which is a respectable field).  If you can get your score up in the mid-40's or low 50's you are going to greatly increase the available jobs (a score of 55 will qualify you for every job in the Navy).

Good luck and work hard to improve your score!

  7. uhm, work on your asvab first because a 20 means you scored better than 20% of the people who take the practice....MEANING 80 percent of the people have better score than you, with a low asvab btw, your jobs are limited, especially the ones that are more "wanted" in the community

  8. I am a Marine and my sole experience with the Navy has been their medical staff. They always seem happy and well trained. If you want to see combat become a combat corpsman, they deploy to the front lines with us and patch us up when we shot and stuff.

  9. Honestly you might want to take some time and beef up your ASVAB  scores. Not sure what the recent rules are but it used to be a minimum of a score in the 30's to join the services.

The link below has the score minimums for the different services.

  10. You should try the seabees or momag.

  11. 20, ouch.

the Navy is great for folks who can ace the ASVAB.

If you can not ace it, then the Navy is not so good.

    Go Air Force instead.

  12. a 20 doesn't qualify you for ANYTHING.  with a HS diploma you need a 35.  with just a GED you need a 50( and a lot of luck since the Navy takes very few GED holders.

get the score up by investing in an ASVAB study guide.

but what ratings you qualify for are based on your line scores as well as other factors such as normal color vision and ability to get a Clearance.  PLUS there has to be an opening in the A school some time in the next 12 months.

  13. I don't think you qualify for anything with a 20. Get an ASVAB for dummies book, work on your score. You should be more concerned with your basic math and reading skills than anything else. To be honest you need to focus on the basics on education before hoping to advance in any career
