I have a domain bought and maintained at one company. I have just built a site at another company, using the domain name they provided me. Now, I want my domain name to be associated with my site. So, the process is, apparently, to simply change the nameservers for my domain name to the new company's nameservers. But the new company must have hundreds if not thousands of sites, under their "nameservers". So, how in the heck would they know how to associate my particular domain name to my particular site??? I mean, if they gave me a nameserver that was a little more independant, with some codes or something that would help them identify my site, then I could understand, you change the nameservers to a unique nameserver, then bingo, my domain points to my site, but I am scared to simply change the nameservers for my domain name to their generic nameservers, perhaps my domain may just get lost in internet neverland???
