I seen an advertisement for a product called Majic Jack. I was thinking of ordering, but cannot get enough info about it. I live in Ky and there are a lot of phone companies that won't work here. If you have and info GOOD or BAD please let me know. I like to make a well informed decision, and won't purchase until I have some more info on it!! Thanks so much

  1. I'd have to say if you want to lower your phone bill like I did from $70/month to $20/YEAR!  Thats right, only $49 for the 1st Year, then $20 for every additional YEAR.  Some people don't like it, but I've never had any problems with the Magic Jack.   You do need to have existing broadband service just like any other VOiP service.  MagicJack makes it simple to install and the quality is great.

Here's some more info and a few video reviews on the MagicJack:

  2. I have it since last year 5/07 and love it!!

thats why they call the Magic Jack..........the vonage killer!!

There are a lot of tricks you gotta learn to make it work just right!!

its cheap.....but I would not wanted as my primary phone service!

I use it to call back to the US while traveling...........!

You need a computer and a high speed internet connection like Cable or DSL (which I have)

VERY easy to install.....you will be up and running within 5 minutes...!

I have the MagicJack for a month and love it!!

People either hate or love a product.

    I love my MagicJack!

I use it with the combination of GrandCentral so I can use different area-codes!!

They call it the vonage and skype killer!!!

tip: after installation don't run it on the admin account...create another account for the MJ!!

Also, kinda watch and close out the device manager...but you will all learn that in good time on your own!!.

I just got my 2nd MJ...

  3. it like skype but you use normal telephone numbers instaed of the skype nummber it quite clever it looks ok. the idea is pretty simple. it uses software on the pc and a normal telephone line to connect you via a internet exchange. depending on the price of your phone bill and internet cost it might be cheaper to keep the same because everytime you talk or get called your internet is goint throught the equivalent of a online video. around 12 mb minimum goin to anything

  4. Magic-Jack is a joke compared to a good broadband VOIP service. Forget incoming calls. They will cost your callers a lot, (to your area code) and incoming is very flaky to a voicemail.. It will cut out at times, not work at times, kinda like a 'toy'. It works best on a good broadband connection like cable or FIOS, but still flaky. Some love it, but for a serious phone user, it is not for me.!! Not stable enough. NO customer support.. (You get what you pay for.!)

  5. I think its a good deal....if that's what you want....you can call anyone for free in the US and Canada for free....land line or cellphone!! I have one for over 1 year now and love it!

you just put the MagicJack into your USB port and use any old analog phone and make calls....!

the MJ software install when you put the MJ n your USB post....with the software and also a softfone if you wanna use it !

I use it since last year, and so far I love it! but you gotta know what you really want out of this gizmo! I use it strictly for travel and as a 2nd line in my house!

Don't expect too much from MagicJack....its not a phone service per se.....!

I had no problems installing it...matter-of-fact ....the install was faster and much more easier then my other VoIP service!

Land Phones its really easy to use....like a VoIP service (Internet phone)

but you computer got to be on at all times for it to work!!

You gotta download their software....but its very easy and you don't need to do nothing else...! I have it since last year...! so far I love it...I take it on vacation to other countries so I can call back for free with an US area code! Make sure you use another user account and not the admin account...also if you have trouble...check your device manager....don't do your iPot stuff at the same time...!

all you get is the Magic Jack...the rest you learn on your on, or at the MJ forum!

You will be up and running within 5 minutes....you can ask here questions when you get it going!! There are alot of little things you have to know........for it to work just right!!

the most important thing with the MJ...it all depends on your ISP provider....! I use other VoIP on my computer, but the MJ was the easiest to install...
