If you're talking about ipconfig, then all you have to do to learn about it is type 'ipconfig /?' in any console. But i'll give a couple examples anyway...

ipconfig /release

... releases your current ip configuration information

ipconfig /flushdns

... flushes your DNS cache to remove any incorrect DNS info

ipconfig /renew

... renews your ip configuration info with the DHCP server

Another useful command is ping, which test's a computers internet connection by timing how long it takes to connect to a server in ms.

ex...

ping www.google.com
