Sir,can we use compressed air engines or gasoline engines instead of I.C engines to propel the boat...Sir please explain which is more better &more efficient...Sir,also explain the d-merits of using that engine,,,

  1. well cant have a gas engine, without it being internal combustion. compressed air? the problem there is, what compresses the air? need a very long extension cord or a gas engine to drive a compressor. and then why not just use that engine?

    but ok, humouring the compressed air. few problems. one is, air would not have much thrust. a large amount of resistance is encountered and needs to be overcome in a boat. you would need an awful lot of compressed air to propel a boat, it would not be very efficient at all.

    i believe actually, didnt mythbusters attempt this? and failed miserably.


  2. A gasoline engine is an internal combustion engine. If compressed air engines were better they would be a little more known.
