  1. I'm having some veggie trays and other things to snack on first. They are going to need some snacks to eat while we are getting our pictures taken. Then we are having a dinner. It will be a full meal with salad. Then cutting my CAKE!! At least that's how I'm doing my wedding this October 18th!!!

  2. For small gatherings that are not intended to last very long, sometimes the only thing served is champagne and wedding cake.

  3. You can serve whatever you like. Cocktail receptions are becoming pretty popular. I'm getting married in November and we are doing a sit down formal dinner, but only because it is the same price per head for fingerfood! I think you should pick whatever you like and whatever fits your personality and budget! Its your day! Good luck.

  4. Usually it's a dinner, depending on where the reception is held, in a hall or a club or in the backyard?

  5. most people do.

  6. Its not a must, but most people do.

If its a money issue, then people will totaly understand if it isnt there.

I think its best to plan the time of reception for a time that people will have already eaten if food wont be there.

  7. if you are catholic you need to have a big dinner...but you certainly should have finger and party food if you are not going to have dinner...congrats!

  8. most people do, but if you're on a very strict budget, then just a dessert reception is fine:) ....Wedding cake (of course), and dishes of Jordan almonds (you can get them in white, silver or whatever are your colors at a craft store in the wedding department) and mints ....  Maybe some platters of little cookies, chocolate covered strawberries, petit fours, cream puffs too .....  People should be coming to help you celebrate your wedding - not just to eat!  ... Congratulations!   (Also, if you're on a strict budget, remember that a champagne punch would go further than serving glasses of champagne, or liquor)

  9. most people do.

my brother and his wife just sent a paper saying after the wedding they were going to be dinning @ a restaurant a few min away for anyone who wanted to join them.
