Gongbei... I think you mean the Zhuhai city - Gongbei is the area of the Zhuhai city that is right next to Macau.

Macau is so small, you can take bus/taxi or walk to the immigiration border between Macau and mainland China. Just walk throught the immigration with your IDs/Passport/VIsa, then you are already in Zhuhai city - Gongbei area - there is an shopping mall right next to the immigration building - and many others within walkable distnace.

- It is cheaper to shop in mainland China than Macau, but you need to have immigration documents in order to enter mainland China. Macau resident does shopping at Zhuhai / Gongbei all the time - we have multiple entry ID car to enter mainland China, but may not worth to go there for shopping alone if you are visitor as VISA costs money.

- Macau can walk from any point to another point within 30 minutes unless you are on Macau's insland. It takes about 30mins to 1.5hrs to walk accross the immigration between Macau/mainland China. The distance is not much, but the line could be long depending on the immigration document you are holding and the amount of people on the time.
