  1. Take your address to the County Assessors Office.  They are friendly and will help you.  With the address, you will find the owners name.  Go to the Recorders Office with that name.  You will find everything about your home and its mortgage and any foreclosure.  Sometimes this is all online. /

  2. You can go to your local Tax Assessor's office and they will give you that information.  You just tell them your address and they should be able to look that up for you.

  3. well you would pretty much know if you are or aren't but find your county's clerk of courts website and usually there's a foreclosure section where you can look up the homeowners name and see if the foreclosure process has begun.

  4. Umm....well...if it's been a while since you've made your last mortgage payment...you may be in foreclosure.  If the bank is sending you nasty letters and phone calls...you may be in foreclosure.  If the constables come and dump all your stuff on the lawn and change your locks...you may be in foreclosure.  They really don't keep things like this a secret!  If you're in foreclosure, I'd think you'd know!

  5. What state is it in? See if you can get a NOD (Notice of Default), or NOT (Notice of Trustee sale) list. See if First American Title is in your state, they might be able to get you the list(s). If your property is on the NOT list, than it's in foreclosure. If your property is on the NOD list than it's in pre-foreclosure. Are you able to raise the money to bring the property current?  See if you can short sale. What does your attorney say?
