I want to know if I can go to the DMV place and get my permit with just taking the driver's ed class?

Im taking driver's ed June 23 thru July 7, and I want to know, can I go to the DMV place and get my permit without taking the driving part of driver's ed,because i would have to wait 3 months just to take the driver's part of driver's ed.This is in the state of Louisiana

now in Oklahoma we have to have proof that we finished drivers ed. my divers ed instructor took some of the other kids to the dmv so they could get it. i know it has been a year and a half since i got my permit and now i have my license. oh and you have to have at least a births certificate and a social security card

I live in Louisiana, and I say you're damned stupid for wanting a permit before taking driver's ed. Louisiana doesn't need anymore stupid drivers.

You probably have to have the permit to take the driving part of drivers ed- I know I did, but that was when we used our feet to brake! :-)  Although from the website, it looks like that might have changed. Check this out:
