I want to know if i could use a intercooler as a performance intake considering its Mounted in the front?

no it wont giv u any performance gains. yes an intercooler cools air but it wont make it and cooler than the  outside air temp. it is mainly used on a turbo or procharged engine. when u use a turbocharger you compress the air coming into the engine, when u compress anything it gets warmer, so the air is not as dense. when u cool the warm compressed air it gets denser(closer together sort of) more air will get into the engine.

More air=More fuel put into engine=less mpg but=more power

Actually.... yea... maybe... it'd be expensive.. and you're still gonna need a filter on the intake end of the inter-cooler.. instead of cool air.. you'd get... cooler... air...  if it was front mounted....

I don't know why you just wouldn't spring for a $25 intake filter and a piece of pipe.

It would cost you more to buy a FMIC (front mount intercooler) and the associated piping than to buy a $20-80 intake off ebay and since intercoolers only have any real effect on boosted cars you'd get more for the money out of an intake.

There are some air intake kits that are shaped like a front mount intercooler.  Well, there were a few years ago, maybe that fad died out...

Anyway, having that much piping on an intake system would be more hurtfull than helpfull.  Yes, it could be done by placing a huge pod filter at one of the ends of the cooler, but you'd have to be sure to protect the pod filter from water and other earthly elements.  

If want coolder air, just get a CAI system from a company like Injen, AEM, etc... and be sure you get a by-pass as well to put into one of the pipes in case your CAI manages to suck up some water.

no you ill cause a restriction in airflow intercoolers are pressurized by a turbo and an intercooler just cools air in the turbo system hen air flos beteen the fins and helps to give it higher pressure... no dont use it it ill be a waste of money
