Try looking for Cuentos de Cipotes by Salarrue.  He was an excellent Salvadoran writter, and his books covered many of the folk tales in El Salvador, including, la siguanaba, el cipitio, el cadejo, etc.

You'll enjoy his books and the way that he clearly covers the lexicon.
