  1. Pick up a copy of the idiots guide to sailing or something like that.  There are hundreds of parts on a boat and to list them all in this venue is a near impossibility.

    ye got port and starboard,(left and right) fore and aft(front and back) ye got the head(Toilet) and dont forget the galley! arrr(kitchen) and the crows nest(watch ) and the helm(steerage) and the hold(storage)and the salon(living room) but me favorite is the p**p deck!!!!ARRRR!!!! lol.....

    Starboard- The right of the boat when facing the front

    Port- left side of the boat when facing bow

    Bow- Front of boat

    Stern- Back of boat

    Mast- long pole usually in the middle of the boat (t runs vertical)

    Boom- The pole attached to the mast that can swing and runs horizontally

    Mainsheet- Rope used to control the sail (i.e. pull it in)

    Main sail- The largest sail on the boat

    Jib- the sail in the front of the mast

    Rudder- Used to steer the boat

    Tiller- stick used to steer the rudder
