i have alot of old pirate looking money. it says this coin is an eight real BUST peso. it was minted in the new spain colonies and bears the inscription Hisp. Et. Ind. R. This inscription says, "King of the Spains and the Indies." If the coin was struck by Spain rather than a colony the inscription would read, "Hispaniarium Rex" (King of the Spains). This piece of eight was in circulation in the colonies in the late 1700's and early 1800's during the time when privateers plundered the gold rich trade routes of the Carribbean. I would really like to know what this is worth. I have some more old coins that look like there foreign but i have no paper with them that says what they are. i need to know the value of these very badly. please help if you can. thanks. have a blessed day.

  1. You'd really need to post pics to get these questions answered. Coins are just too vast of an area to give values without a photo. Condition has a lot to do with it too. Just because a coin is old does not make it valuable. There are also some good online sites to check, or you can search by keyword on ebay and go from there.
