i am paying £40 a month for my dial up connection at the moment

get a 3g usb mobile modem if you want pay as you go you can pick them up for £50 at the moment

the three network or t-mobile seem to do the best deals at the moment but check coverage in your area

If you were in the US, I would send you to Verison wireless. When you sign up wit them, you get the modem free (low end version) and the cost is about $75 per month for a 230KB connection and 5 gig limit.
