I have an extremely soft spot on my head and I don't want to be killed while playing. Everybody thinks I'm retarded but I'm not.

  1. If you are not retarded, you must be Australian, to ask a question like that. What do you want a helmet for ? , are you a poof ?

  2. Maybe you should start playing American Football or Ice hockey or something if you don't want your soft spot tampered with. Rugby is a man's game and you don't wear helmets. Maybe just a scrum cap.

  3. You are not retarded and I hear your plea however helmets are made from hard plastic and sometimes metals, the rules of rugby do not permit anything worn by players that are hard and may cause injury to another player. Remember you would be the only one wearing a helmet, therefore if another player was to clash with you it would be possible for he or she to become injured by the helmet. There is a form of headgear that can be used though, Gilbert actually has some pretty decent head guards, check out the Xact and braincell. You can check www.gilbertrugby.com...

    Best of luck

  4. Don't know how soft yr soft spot is but there is the headpiece that some players wear that is considerably cushioned/padded and offers protection

  5. whos stopping you?

  6. If you want a honest answer the reason you are not aloud wear a helmet cause its too dangerous. I know it may be strange to hear but thats the rules. No one else wears helmets, so if you wear to wear a helmet the you have a good possibility of injurying others.

They are aloud wear helmets in American football cause thats the rule and also they wear like 2 feet of body armour. In rugby you are aloud wear soft shoudler pads and scrum caps. If you were to wear your helmet go to tackle a guy and slam into his knee you could break it.....no hard objects are aloud to be used to rugby

Since i was concussed a few years ago playing i started to wear a scrum cap, they are padded. I have been wearing it now for 10 years and have never received a head injury since. I find that Canterbury ones are good, so are rugbytech but the  best one i found has to be the adidas scrum caps, they can be gotten on most rugby online stores.

The only thing is that with your soft patch, even the best of scrcum caps would not provide the protection you want. Not sure what a doctor would say but it can be very heartbreaking when you cant play the sport you want. If all else fails there is always tag rugby, Best of luck man

  7. Maybe you shouldn't play, then.

  8. Yea, scrum cap may be the answer, Canterbury of New Zealand makes the best. But if you have a really soft spot on the head, I'm afraid it wont help you. I didn't quite understand what kind of a spot you got, but if it is a kind that when somebody hits you there you can die, you shouldn't be playing and that's it. You can be the waterboy, or cheer the guys from the stand with a beer in hand, play touch rugby or take up refereeing of the game (always a need for a good ref) or maybe coach some kids.... if you love the game, there is always a way to stay in it, even if you are not playing.

Good luck with your head! :)

  9. Some people do, but it has to be of a certain type so that you don't hurt the other players.
