I want to learn a variety of martial arts?

well basically i want to learn a variety of different martial arts that will cover things like self defense, punching, kicking, throws, grabs pushes, weapons so basically most areas of martial arts but i don't know what would be the best styles to learn. can anyone give me advice?

  1. depends on what you want to do with your martial arts.

    if its to get a better body then things ike kung fu will get your legs jacked and the rest of your body will follow.

    if its for excercise and using up energy and giving you something to do- wrestling and judo are excellent.

    if its for self defence then krav maga.

    if its to be used in the ring then ju-jitsu.

    kick-boxing/muay thai are the most fun to do.


  2. Muay thai for punching, defense and kicking.

    Judo for throws.

    Jujutsu for joint locks, holds and take downs.

  5. Kempo or Jujitsu should have most of what you want.  They all seem to have some of your list in different degrees.  I still like Okinawan styles.

    You will think what every you are in is the best, but you will find new things in each.
