  1. Where do i start?

School or you can download a program BYKI -- http://www.byki.com/fls/FLS_ga11.html?en...  (It is safe)

    What is the quickest way?

Patience, revision and concentration.. bit extreme but after knowing all the basics and enough to get around, moving to France or a french speaking country/place like Quebec will help a great deal

How long will it take? roughly

Can deppend how quickly you can grasp new things and how much you learn a day, could take 2 years could take 10 if you want to be 100% fluent and making it as easy as speaking english or something

I want to be fluent and literate

These are the best advise I can give tbh

  2. Really learn it ?

Go to France and get a job with children.

  3. I am not sure which country you live in. Alliance Francais is a French cultural organisation, a la the British Council which runs fairly good french classes to start with. Google for Alliance Francais and you should find one close to you.

  4. To be fluent and literate you need to go to france, there is no other way. You could start off by joining a language school but eventually go to France for at least a couple of months. Some people learn languages much easier than others so it's impossible to say but it is impossible to become fluent in a short time. At least a year to a couple of years depending on many factors. Bon courage!

  5. College course, evenings or days

  6. Go to France...

  7. google it and find some online classes or sumthing

  8. at home

  9. use the BBC web site mate .

    BBC Language

This site will get you good :) But i must warn you if you want to get good you must pratice everyday for the next year 1-2 hours and then your be really good . Also try get a program that talks the language then you say it back

  10. Rosetta Stone will make it easy.  Have you seen their commercials?

  11. Take an immersion class. You can either take one locally or study abroad in a french speaking country. It takes time and a lot of practice to be fluent so don't expect to get it overnight or in one class.

  12. Take night classes for it, the more intensive the quicker you'll learn. Talk to french people a lot. Read a lot of French books even if you have to look up every second word. Once you know the basics, move to France for a year - the best and quickest way to learn a language is to surround yourself with it constantly. It's how I learned English!

I'd offer to chat with you in French but my own French isn't up to standard anymore either.

  13. Take a course.

Buy a book or a computer program.

Commit yourself to studying it every day.

See if you can possibly go to France.

Get MSN messenger and find a French friend.

Don't be afraid to practice out loud.

You could do it in 6 months if you are really focused.

Good luck, I'm trying to do this too.

Urm, i think it will roughly take about a month depending on how long u practice for etc.

Its good coz it has the sounds aswell so you can learn how to say the stuff aswell as spell it :]
