The Bayern Munich midfielder showers praise on his teammate and insists that he wants to emulate the German’s achievements in the long run.
David Alaba wishes to achieve the same heights in his Bayern Munich career as his teammate, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bastian-Schweinsteiger-c7374. He revealed that the German international is definitely his role model and admitted that he would love to learn
from him in order to further develop his skills.
Alaba was talking ahead of Bayern’s next league game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/SC-Freiburg-c40462 on Saturday, February 18. While talking to the official club website, the young Austrian further added: "I'm not trying to copy Basti, I try and play my football
and apply my strengths. But obviously, I can learn so much from him. He’s my role model."
Alaba has been a regular part of the first team due to an injury to Schweinsteiger. The German international returned to action in January after recovering from a collarbone fracture but suffered another setback in the DFB-Pokal
game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Alaba-c10416 will replace him until then.
The youngster expressed his delight after being provided with ample playing time in this campaign. He also showed gratitude to his manager, Jupp Heynckes, who has enough confidence in the teenager to play him as Schweinsteiger’s
replacement. Alaba mentioned that he is gradually growing in confidence with every passing game and wished his teammate a speedy recovery.  
"I want to play as often as possible, and I always try and give it my best. You grow in confidence all the time. The coach has played a big part in my development. He explains everything to me clearly, and keeps an eye out for
me," the Austrian international concluded.
Bayern are currently second in the league standings with 44 points, two short of leaders, Borussia Dortmund. The Reds will be hoping to secure all three points against Freiburg before they take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Basel-c39079 in the UEFA Champions
League game on February 22.
