  1. Try to see if the community center has a Bboy/Bgirl class. If they just have Hiphop Classes, most likely they will have some breakdancing elements in it, a lot.

While at home, watch videos on youtube, for:Uprock tutorials, toprock tutorials, the six step, and the basic freeze. Practice in front of the mirror, and try to stretch and loosen up before you break, or else you might feel stiff. If you have friends who are interested in it, or they are already pretty good, try some jam sessions(meetings for dance practices). I know some ppl who break so I go to church on Fridays.

Ive heard that yoga helps with flexibility and will stop a person from dancing stiffly. Once you get better, you can probably find dance battles, or tournaments around your neighborhood. Good luck and happy breaking!

  2. you can learn breakdance moves on www.youtube.com and you learn how to six step, baby freeze, windmill, etc...

  3. check out youtube.com and type in how to breakdance

  4. Classes are a waste of time and money.  I suggest you find some local bboys/bgirls and practice with them/go to local practice spots.  Check the Training Spots section of the Forums of BBoyworld.com to see if there are any practice spots near you.  Learning from video tutorials is probably the worst way to learn as you'll have no idea if you're doing something wrong.

  5. go to bboyworld.com. They have a bunch of forums with how to info as well as a place to post and search for practice spots in your area. You don't need a class. You just need to find a crew(s) that practices near you and show them that you're dedicated/motivated. If you can do that, they will teach you. In the meantime, learn what you can from bboyworld.com. Alienness also has some great videos posted on youtube under his alias Rusty Shank. The Blueprint 2 advertisement in particular shows some great foundation and labels them too :-) I do know of one bboy in Ohio. his name is broox 1 and he's in Zulu Kings. You can probably find him on myspace or the zulu kings website. He might have some info for you. Also, the guys who throw the Circle Prince jam for the US throw it in Ohio, so they might be able to help to. You would find them through the Circle Kingz website (jam in Switzerland). Good luck!
