  2. this is an overall answer that can apply to most of your cooking:

choose recipes with less salt, butter and obsessive meat

go for recipes with more veggies, protein, and keep salt, butter and other unhealthy foods to a minimum. if you want some ideas to look up and make i recommend:

    1. vegetable stir-fry

    2. green salad with healthy dressing and an assortment of fresh vegetables

    3. burritos with items like: beans, rice, cheese, and some spices maybe

i hope that helps. also, sometimes just trust your gut that it's healthy and look around on the Food Network and the bookstore/library for more tips on how to cook healthier!

  3. SJ-SC-CA Incredible Chicken Salad

3 cups chicken breast (cooked and cubed)

    1 cup pineapple (diced)

    1/2 cup celery (diced)

    1/2 cup mayonnaise

    1/4 cup raisins

    1/4 cup walnuts

    1/8 cup dried cranberries

    2 Tablespoons sweet onion (minced)

    2 Tablespoons apple juice

Combine all ingredients in a bowl until well combined and chill. Serve with a lettuce garnish.

***You can use the chicken salad as a sandwich filling.***

  4. To cut down the cost of your meals and still eat well I have found replacing meat with other things (such as tofu) or reducing the meat to vege ratio has worked well - for example when i cook chicken burritos I only use a small amount of chicken and add in kidney beans and bean shoots to bulk it up. You can still receive all the protein and iron you need from vegetables.

  6. Cooking healthier means using real food... not junk food, not processed food.  It is less expensive because your body gets what it needs and you don't eat as much eventually.  Also the manner of cooking can make it healthy or not.  Join the slow-food movement: http://www.slowfood.com/
