I want to learn how to dance, modern hip-hop sort of like the jabbawockeez but don't know where to start?

i want my style to be sort of like the jabbawockeez but of course i'd like to have my own and i have the style in my mind... i just dont know how to start, where to start and stuff like that... to start off i want to have the smoothness of the jabbas & omarion, i also wanna learn how to krump a little bit... i donno where to get started i've been watching alot of jabbas moves on youtube though... thanks in advance ladies u better watchout for that random guy dancing up on u!

what i want to hopefully learn a little bit of: bboying, krump, smoothness(i think its called freestyle?), break, some michael jackson lol so i guess i'm asking for any videos... or lessons online?

  1. Modern hip hop and street dance most commonly start from a jazz and hip hop class base. Jazz is typically the base. You don't need a lot of training, but taking a dance course (a year or so) in jazz will definitely help. Then you should move to dancing in a hip hop class.

    If you cannot find a hip hop class in your area (which you should be able to), learn it on You Tube! Shane Sparks is the king of modern hip hop and he has a great set of hip hop videos that where he teaches choreography. You can see some of it on You Tube.

    Also, You Tube "Shane Sparks" to see other choreography/teaching videos. To see some of his work, You Tube "Dominic Sabra Hip Hop" "Benji Donyelle Hip Hop" etc. Go to the Wikipedia article on "So You Think You Can Dance" to see details and other performances you can You Tube.

    For other street dancing, look up on You Tube "Dave Scott"
