  1. Get yourself Rock Band and see how hard a game of drums is, not even the real thing.  If you can handle that then maybe consider getting drums.

  2. good for you, you will love it. Ok here is what i would do in your situations.

having no experience shouldnt worry you.. everybody who starts something new, has to start from the beginning.. start at step one and move forward one day at a time.

if noise is a concern, and you cant get a drum set, ask to get some practice pads, which have a similar bounce to a drum skin and are far less noisy.

start by doing some simple excercises to increase timing and dexterity in your wrists, doesnt have to be flash, just some simple excercises to get you started. look on the internet for drum lessons, also go to youtube ad check out the lessons there... there is a ton of them

    hope this helps, rock on....

  3. Ask you parents to sign you up for lessons at a local music store. You won't be able to practice at home, but at least your lessons will be away from complaining neighbors- and you won't need to buy a drum set just yet.

FYI- I have been playing the drums for 9 years, and it's worth evey minute of my time. But you must always be extremely dedicated, because you wont be satisfied with your progress for a good year at least. But learning takes time. Hang tight.

  4. Step one: enroll in a music class of ANY sort. One at your school would be great (especially at 15, Freshman?) your teacher would be able to help you.

Step two: learn to read music. Online, class, wherever. Learn to read, not just percussion staff. Very crucial.

Step three: practice. You don't actually have to have a set (assuming that's what you are thinking) You can use pads laid out in that arrangement.

Step four: keep with it, find a friend who plays music to jam with, or another percussion player

If you want to make it happen, you can.

You can find music online too, if you're short on money. Buying it at a music store would be better in the long run probably though.

  5. I been in band for 6 years but when i reach high school i got out so playing the drums its easy just go to a music store get a pair of drums sticks cost about 10 dollars and a practice pad and a book and practice like right left right left right left alternating hands each time and increasing your speed and by no time you'll be playing like a rock star

  6. tap your right foot two times as your listining to a beat.at the same time tap your right hand at four beats.while you are doing this tap every other beat with your left hand.after you do this incorperate your left foot to raise off the floor every third beat with four beat interfolds
