  1. No beach and no teacher...bummer.  First rent or buy some surf videos to get the feel for surfing.  Then plan one day trips to beach.  Spend the surfing.  If your in Southern California, try COrky Carrolls surf school in Huntington Beach.

  2. Here's what size board you should get:

And here's an article on how to stand up:

Besides for that... just get in the water. No need for a teacher.

  3. find a local surf shop, ask them for lessons

  4. meeeeeeee

    toooooo!

  5. well it depends where you live but i no a few n might b able to help?

just try to build up a strong stamina cause the first few times you will probs be wiping out a lot and are probs gonna get tired quite quickly as most beginners do!

skateboarding will help and also try getting an indo board to help you learn how to balance and wot not or improvise like the dude above with the football n wot not

i don't live to close to the beach either but luckily my parents are willing to take me and my friends who I surf with practically live with us so they give lifts etc. maybe you could ask some ppl??

good luck, hope you find a surfing instructor and just have fun with it x

  6. surfing isnt hard, grab a board paddle out and try it out, youll get it by the end of the day and as soon as you get it you wont want to stop so be prepared to spend alot on gas this summer.

  7. So the beach is 40 something miles away from home? Gas alone will be about 20 dollars both ways. If you don't have transportation, wait until you're older to learn to surf. If you have some cash saved, buy yourself a nice longboard skateboard. Sector 9 is my favorite style, but you can find some nice longboards for less at most surf shops. With a longboard, you can carve and turn, bomb hills, and have a lot of fun. The balance and confidence you build by longboard skateboarding will help your transition to surfing. It's not surfing, but it's what I do when there is no surf.

  8. Try using a skateboard as well to help you control your balance instead of walking.

  9. if you go to the beach alot and you see some people out there surfing swim out there and ask them to help you out it only takes one day usually. if you cant find a surf shop and see if they do lessons. after your first lesson you'll be able to do it.

  10. ok

just get an indo board and practice for a little bit

    also

you can get a board without fins and put it on the ground, then lay on it like you are surfing and practice jumping up and getting up from your stomach

when you are good at that then you can hit the beach.

a few days of practice in the water and you should be able to stand and eventually ride line on the waves

then you can do whatever you want

    good luck

  11. Do you have any friends that surf? or older people that you know, that surf??? Maybe you should just go and watch people surf, try asking them for tips and shops that can help you find an instructor. My friend is a life guard at Santa Monica beach, so he taught me how to surf. I always felt safe w. him.

  12. go to the beach when you can, gas is really expensive, and practice or do what the other dude said, but use a soccer ball

  13. Check with surf shops. Most will offer lessons or you can rent a board and ask some of the locals for tips! Its a great way to meet people and learn at the same time!

  14. where do you live maybe people know some good instructors there.

fore now just do  balance practise-- take a wood 2by8 and stick a foot ball under neath and just try to balance!

    good luck

  15. whatch surfs up its the easyest ways to lean

  16. get a sector 9 skateboard. i have one and it is exactly like surfing if you know how to ride it. its a good way to start
