I want to learn how to type properly. How do i learn?

Is there some kind of computer program or something that teaches typing. Right now I am using my index fingers and it is extremely slow.

go to your local electronics store

and ask them about typing programs...

or maybe even try an online program!

if you're using a QWERTY keyboard, make sure you position your left pointing finger at the "F" key while your right pointing finger is at the "J" key. these keys usually have a small physical marker or a bump that you can feel so you don't need to glance at the keyboard every time you need to properly position your hands -- for me this is an important first step. then try your best to use all fingers to type the nearest keys to it. example: y,u,h,j,n,m will be the keys for your right pointing finger; while q,a,z,'tab','caps',L-Shift will be for your left pinkie finger; so on and so forth...

yup, using your index fingers( called chop sticks typing) is really slow. if you want to learn how to type, you can buy typing softwares which can help you. it teaches you everything you need to know about typing using all your fingers. :) it also teaches you typing capital letters and numbers and symbols.

i learned how to type properly using a software called Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing. Try it and be a better typist!

yeah there's some types of computer programs that teaches you how to type properly w/o having to look at the keyboard and ...yeah basically just typing properly.

go to like any computer store or best buy and i'm sure you'll find one.

i took keyboarding class in my highschool, so if you have that, then go take that class.

and another way to learn (the way i had to do it), is to chat w/ ppl, like your friends online. it'll make you want to type faster and you'd end up trying to not look at the keyboard, etc.
