  1. It depends on the martial arts school. Since I live in the city, they accept all types of payment; Credit Card, Check, and Cash.

Dude! 80 bucks is pretty cheap and reasonable for a school.  The school that I went to recently, increased their tuition from 80 to 110 a month.  There are some schools out that charge way more than that, and there are some who will let you train for the first month free.

  2. Get a job, a better job, or a second job.  The previous person is right that $80 is pretty inexpensive.

I would avoid rolling around with your buddies based on something you see on YouTube.  You'll develop bad habits and probably end up getting hurt.  Get some training and roll around with guys in your school.

  3. To tell you the truth, 80$ is actually a very low monthly fee for MMA. In most major cities it is 150$ average.

What you can do is find a couple of friends who have the same interests as you. Go on Youtube.com [YT] and start watching clips of seminars and start rolling with your friends. There are plenty of legitimate belts and fighters who started this way - Jason Mayhem Miller [belt & fighter] and Evan Tanner [fighter] are just two examples. Or find a way to scrape up the 80$, and start training. Once you've trained, you can make friends who other practitioners who may want to free roll with you, especially those with more experience so they can teach you much needed technique. And you can do all of this while taking a few months off of formal training until you scrape up the 80$ again to do another month. Rinse. Repeat.

  4. you dont have to do just mma most fighters started under one basic discipline and then moved to the mixed stuff try to find something like kickboxing or some type of striking like muy thai.  sometimes that can be cheaper until you can afford the mma.

  5. Try being a g*y ref, like me;)
