I won't have access to any guitar teacher or any sources for books.

The only way I'll be able to learn is from lessons from the internet.

But the downer is that i have very limited funds, so i won't be able to pay for lessons that cost money.

My plan is to learn how to play chords and get my fingers stronger so when i go to a place where Guitar teachers will be available (which will be in 2 months), i'll already know some stuff and my fingers will be strong

  2. There are plenty of websites out there that have interactive lessons that can teach you to play guitar, some of which are free, and the others you have to pay for.  There are also good books that you can buy.  The best how-to book I've bought, or read is the "_____ for Dummies" series of books.

  3. Can you afford to spend $7 or $8 for a beginner's guitar manual? That would be an immense help to you.

If possible, visit a reputable music store and get the book titled, "Hal Leonard's Guitar Method #1."  Inside are instructions on tuning, string identification, basic music theory, and exercises in notation. It's a solid way to learn without an instructor.

    You'll thank me later.

  4. Haha! You don't need money to learn to play acoustic guitar.

I think a good way to start would be to get yourself on Google and look up "Guitar at About.com." They have this GREAT guitar tutorial which focuses EXACTLY on what you just said -- teaching you the basic open chords and getting your fingers stronger, and as it goes on it goes into barre chords and basic theory and little things like that. I'm assuming you already have a guitar and pick -- that's ALL you'll need, the online lessons are completely free and super-easy to do. Good luck!!!!!

If you ever want any help, don't be afraid to email me or anything through this site, I learned to play guitar like that, on the low budget without a teacher.

  5. Try these sites.  Good luck.
