I want to learn to crochet...any good tutorials online?

I was browsing through some crocheting forums but all I could find were instructions on how to follow patterns. So, does anyone know of a website to help me get started?

The website for the German pattern company Burda has free on line lesson in crochet for beginners.  They start with the basics: how to loop the yarn on the hook, how to turn the loop to a chain and then how the stitches are formed from that single basic movement. Well, I for one know NOTHING about crocheting. If you check out YouTube and search "How to crochet", you will probably get a lot of answers. In my opinion, if u want 2 find a "How to" video on Youtube, the best videos will be under the username "expertvillage". Good Luck.

Just go to a craft store, Micheals, or something like that, look thru the instruction books for one that say, Beginning chochet, Learn to Chrochet etc., start with the basics so you the different steps and to make simple things, it is not hard and you CAN learn all the basics, then just upgrade to a little harder and harder steps, you can even look up how to do the different steps on the net, I taught myself and it really was not hard at all, little time consuming, but well worth it.
