I want to learn to do mental math, what are some things i can do?

In my family I am the only one who can't do math in my head (fast). I mean I can do something like 8/3 but if you ask me 50/4 I can't do that well. Same with multiplication...if you ask me 30 times 38 I can't do that either. So what can I do to do those in my head? Whenever I go to the store and there is like a discount or something like 20 percent off on a $12.59 shirt my parents just do that in their heads and see if that is a good deal or not. So what can I do to learn this?

see if there any vedic math classes in your area. they are used for speedy calculations.
