  1. i got an acoustic epiphone a couple years ago for $130... they still sell it at guitar center and sometimes it's only $100. it fluctuates... but you also need to spare some money for extra stuff like a tuner, extra strings (because the strings that come on the guitar won't be any good and will probably break pretty quick), and stand for your guitar (or a bag if you are going to be taking it places), and some picks... altogether that will probably cost between $30 and $40 so i would recommend a guitar around $100 so you don't go over your budget... the guitar i have is an epiphone pr-150 with a sunburst finish... i think most epiphones will sound good but your best bet is to go to guitar center and try a couple guitars out... (if you have a friend that knows how to play guitar have them come with you so they can let you know if the guitar is any good.) good luck.

  2. I got a Rogue guitar from amazon.com for about $80, and it has pretty good sound. I've been pleased with it since I got it in December.
