  1. Id say acoustic first, itll strengthen your fingers but if youre looking to learn electric songs go for that first. Learn by yourself and see how you go (learn chords and scales after a while), if not just get a good teacher. Could be expensive though.

  2. Depends what style of music your into,

Acoustic's are cheaper andd you can easily transfer songs a onto electric after your more experienced

but you can do more on an electric

and if your into heavier music like rock or metal you'l need one

  3. depends...wa you want onplayign the guitar...fast thinger for riffs and harmonics and such, or acoustic for chords and rythem. id say acoustic ,strengthen your fingers first.

  4. There are three main types of Guitar - ELECTRIC, ACOUSTIC (steel string) or ACOUSTIC CLASSICAL (nylon string, with a wider neck). It really depends what music you like listening to. Folk? Rock? Blues? Classical? Different guitars will give you a different sound and feel.

I think you should pick a guitar that suits the music you like. Then, when you start learning chords and songs for that style, you'll progress quicker and there'll be no stopping you. One on one teaching is great.

A suggestion? You can get a very cheap nylon string classical guitar to start with. For the absolute beginner, the softer strings and wider neck make it sometimes easier to make chord shapes and notes. But only if it suits your music taste.

    Good luck.

  5. a lot of people say acoustic, but i say go with the one that suits your music style.

i like rock music, so i bought an electric straight up. plus, i didn't have a lot of money, so i was able to spend it all on one guitar instead of learning on acoustic then having to buy an electric.

you'll probably learn faster with a teacher, but heaps of people learn just  fine just by themselves. if it was good enough for hendrix, it's good enough for me.

personally, i just find stuff on the internet and muck around with what sounds good.
