Question:

I want to leave home.

I'm coming up to the age where I can move out, and broaden my horizons outside of the parental dominion.

My family as dysfunctional, and none of us particularly like each other, so we're constantly at logger-heads.

My main worry is the UK's economic climate.

I'm nearly 16 (I'm quite level headed. Please don't tell me to sort out the underlying problem of my family, I've tried it) and I've already began earning money. I was thinking of saving up for a car, then save up for getting an apartment or flat.

Do you think, considering the possible idea of recession, that in 2 years time, me wanting to hop the nest is possible?

thanks.

  1. Try to skip out the car bit

    After

    Car,Tax.Fuel,Insurance,Maintanence ,Mot

Your gonna need a crapload of cash.

If your renting a flat your gonna need a deposit also bills council tax blah blah blah

Best option is www.spareroom.com you can get a temporary place in someones house without paying all the tax and gubbins

  2. yes possibly if you work hard and save a large deposit.

  3. EVEN THO yall bite each others heads off its a good idea to save before you move. I think you will get alot farther in life alot EASIER if you stay until you find a permanent way to make a steady income. For now start budgeting and see how much you can let your self save. As far as the family thing is concerned i would try to do chores around the house and at the same time keep some independence from you parents. Start small. like give them their cell phone back that they let you use and get your own. little things like that make you appear more mature and responsible in their eyes/.
