In order to get work authorization in the U.S. you would have to get a company to sponsor you for a job and that is a very difficult thing these days. The government has tightened up the requirements for employers to qualify jobs for sponsorship a lot over the past 5 years. The government gives out a limited number of H-1B Visa's each year, companies who want them must apply for the lottery drawing, they issue them all in a period of one day. The ones for 2008 were issued in April 2007, and the ones for 2009 have already been given out.
