I want to live in America!?

I just love the culture in america, its unique in its own way, I come from the UK and it is a dump, full of drug addicts, criminals, even lower than low classed people, too expensive to do anything and immigrants have took all our jobs!!!

Im a british army soldier, and wanted to know is there a way I can move to the US under the military? im sure somehow with me being in the military I have an added edge of gaining residency more conveniently?

- Could I transfer to the US Army/Air Force/Marines and gain my residency that way (Saying that, would a british soldier even be able to transfer to the US military?)

I specialise in many things to do with helicopters and logistics, i've heard america opens their arms wide to skilled people from abroad, would refuelling helicopters, arming them with missiles.... etc be classed as a profession? could I possible use my civil aerospace qualifications to work at an airport maybe? im qualified in airspace communications, and airport ramp services.

Any ideas on this one? I am in no rush however, probably 4-8 years time once i feel ive ''done my time'' for my countries' military before transferring units.

  1. make sure u move to the right place tho because we also have drug addicts and criminals. but if u join the military youll be moving around alot and wont really know any people who do drugs because u get discharged if u do or even criminals for that matter. contact a US embassy and get a green card, then apply for permanent residency. then later you can apply for citizenship

  2. I hate to tell you, but the US isn't that different from the UK. We also have drug addicts, criminals, low class people, high prices, and lost of immigrants.

The only real difference is that our criminals use guns instead of knives.

I'm at a disadvantage at work because I do not speak Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Tagalog, or Vietnamese.

  3. Contact the US Immigration folks or the embassy or consulate. I'm sure that they can point you in the right direction.

If you want to work on airplanes, call me when you get here! I'm restoring an 1946 Luscombe 8A and could use your help pounding rivets!

  4. Glad to hear you like the US -- thank you for the compliments.  We, too, are inundated with illegal aliens taking millions of jobs from citizens, and immigration is inundated -- about a billion people want to move to the US.  Obviously, we can't handle the onslaught we already have.

However, you have some skills.  The militaries of the Brits & Yanks work together from time to time, and you should see if you can get into something we're doing jointly, or a training program, etc.  You cannot, however, quit the Brits and join the Yanks, so to speak.  Get as much education & specialist training as you can.  You love helicopters?  Well guess who's the best you can go to -- Bell in Ft. Worth, TX or Sikorsky in Shelton, CT.  If you can get hired and they really need you, they can find a way to get you an employment visa.  You've gotta be really good, of course.  So go for it.

  5. they took R jobs!!!....sorry southpark is funny.....everyone hates us but everyone wants to come here i don't understand it.

  6. You are allowed to enlist in the US military even if you are not a US citizen.  You won't be able to "transfer" but you can indeed enlist.  But first you somehow need to get a green card (I think) to allow you entry into the US.

I wish all those who want to come here, legally, all the best.

My advice is never give up on your dream, no matter what it is, even if you can't find short-cuts.  Don't give up.

Luscombe 8A, where are you (in what state) restoring aircraft?

  7. In which country in america ?
