  1. I live in Montreal... I work for the English School board, so I don't need french.  But it will be real hard to get a "decent" job without it, because anything in public service requires you to be bilingual..... well actually they don't much care if you don't speak English, just so long as you have  french!! .    Maybe job where you dont come into contact with the public, office jobs etc.. but they all seem to still ask for bilingual.

Workopolis.com seems to be the site where a lot of employers list in Montreal.

  2. Without a solid knowledge of French (written as well as oral), you will constantly encounter problems and obstacles finding employment in Montreal - and that's a guarantee, trust me!

I really don't know what to tell you to encourage you besides... learn how to speak French at the earliest opportunity!

    Good luck to you!

    Hope this answers your question!

  3. You are studying French, so that is a good start for getting employment in Quebec. Montreal generally has jobs available in English and you can look online at the usual job websites, the Montreal Gazette English daily newspaper, or by contacting a local placement agency.

You did not mention any qualifications, so I cannot direct you to a specific market, but as the other person mentioned, any job dealing with the public will expect you to be able to speak and understand French here. That goes from the Tim Hortons coffee server all the way to a dentist or doctor.

If you try to find a job situated in the West Island, Westmount, NDG, or Mount Royal, you have better odds of not needing as much French, as they have a larger Anglo population in those areas.
