I'm American, and I'm sure I'll need some sort of visa, but what type? I'll be a student, but I can't let my school take care of this because I'm doing like an indepedent study program.

Can you give me the website I need?

  1. Check out this website.you will get the info u need.

    http://www.ambafrance-us.org/visitingfra...

    Good luck.

  2. If you have already set up an organized program, and they haven't said anything, check with them.

If you are doing this COMPLETELY independently, the State Department or the French Embassy would be the first two places to check, with the passport office being next.

  3. You'll need both visa and passport. You'll want to learn French before you go, at least enough to let French people know you respect their culture and don't think English is the be-all-and-end-all. Parisians are nasty, many of them, especially if you try to speak to them in English. They will probably understand you, but will pretend not to. Most French people don't like Parisians, either, so it's not just you.

You might look under "online french lessons." One such site is:

    Bon chance!
