I graduate from college in May of 2009. I want to move and live in one country in South America and volunteer my time. I am willing to do anything. I am graduating from a good university majoring in English with a minor in International Relations. I do not need to be paid a lot. But, I do need a program that pays for my flight, lodging, food, and basic expenses. Essentially, I need the Peace Corps for a year, or I need a international form of AmeriCorps. Any suggestions for programs that do that? Or, any scholarships and such that I can apply for apart from the usual and very difficult to get Rhodes, Marshall etc?

  1. oh i dont know.

but what part of south america you want to move?

  2. Try craigslist. Google "volunteer opportunity" Chile OR Peru.  I got 255,000 sites.

BTW, AmeriCorps is only in the states.

  3. I'd like to suggest buying a copy of the "Utne" magazine. They have ads of such volunteering globally.
