  2. Start from the cemetery records. In case of unnatural death, proceed to police records like post mortem etc.In case of natural death, the hospital records will give you the cause of death etc.Best wishes

  3. the only information you are likely to get without paying is the information you already have

you will probably need to go to an office pr building that holds your relatives details and pay for a copy of the certificates.

  4. Hi, the death certificate itself will be the best source of information for you.

Many states have a death records index that you can search for free - - for example, Minnesota:  http://people.mnhs.org/dci/search.cfm?bh...

Once you find the right record, you can order the actual death certificate.  This is normally a 1-time fee, and you do not have to join or subscribe.

I have found some (VERY old) death certificates online, or by emailing the county recorder where the death occurred and asking them to look up the cause of death for me (I have gotten a few of these look-ups for free).  Depending on the date of death, you may be able to try Googling different combinations to see what information IS available online - - sometimes you can find the burial information, a family story online, the funeral home that did the arrangements, etc., and one of those findings may lead you to an answer available by phonecall or email.

If you like, you could post the information you have and several of us would be willing to help you look (many of us already joined and are paying).  :o)

I hope that helps, good luck!
