Question:

I want to lose weight, but I HATE working out?

I'm 18 years old, medium build around 5'3" and I weigh somewhere between 138-140

I really would like to lose weight to get back into the 120s range that I was in before college. I usually watch what I eat and I don't eat very much (like 1200cal a day.) What should I do?

  1. eating healthy foods daily for example drink green tea with oatmeal and have a couple of healthy fruits in bettween the day nd dont eat after 9 or 10 because usually eating late is bad for your health


  2. Eat less and cut off any junk food. Do chores in the house. Take sometime to walk outside.  

  3. With the height and weight description you gave you do not seem over weight, remember that muscle weighs more than fat. Don't worry so much about exercising, think more about what you can do to have fun while keeping active. There are a lot of good suggestions here.   4. You might not hate it if you had a friend to work out with! I hate working out too, but if I have a friend there with me we can chat and also work out, and it doesnt seem like such a chore afterward. Do something you love doing, like basketball or volleyball and it will be much better!

  6. Exercise doesn't feel like 'working out' if your ordinary daily activities are also exercises.

    If you get a bike, and use it for all your local travelling, you'll be able to increase the amount you eat (to provide fuel for the extra work) and improve your physique at the same time.

    Active hobbies & interests (such as learning a Martial Art) can also help to keep you more active without feeling like you're doing 'exercises'.

  8. well even if u hate working out..... there is no other way to do it..... crash diets dont work they just train ur body to conserve fat more effectively.... the only effective way to lose weight is eating to a special diet and working out at least 2 and a half hrs a day...

  9. It is okii wanting to lose weight, purely through diet, but it is bad for you. Whilst you may be losing weight, you are messing with your body fuctions, you need to balance things out. Really you need the correct daily food amount, and then compliment it with excercise. If u do a little bit of research, there ere ways of excercising that you probably didnt know about. A little bit of looking around should sort that out. It is a dangerous easy way out to lose weight without excercising. Sorry for nagging but dont want you ill :)

    stretch, it helps if you don't wanna excercise at all

  12. I hate to work out even walk just for the sake of exercise.

    Give me a job to do, a place to be and I'll work hard.

    If you are like me try to find hobbies that you like but require you to walk or do physical things.

    I geocache (treasuring hunting with a GPS see www.geocaching .com)

    I'll walk hundreds of yards and climb hills and down ravines to find a silly trinket and log my name in. Ask me to just walk half that far for exercise and I won't!

    Gardening and yard work are great too. Mow the lawn (not on a rider), trim the hedges, weed, dig a new garden. Rake in fall, shovel in winter.  All good exercise and tone mussels!

  14. well, you have to always be concerned while losing weight, to stay healthy too. I think the healthiest way to lose weight is going raw. It's a vegan lifestyle where you don't eat anything cooked. Yeah, It sounds crazy to most people, but I have done it and I have never felt better in my life and I am thinking about making it my permanent way of life. It makes a lot more sense if you read a little bit about it though.

    And Ever heard of the master cleanse??... That, my friends, is the ultimate way to lose weight fast and stay healthy, but like I said, You definitely have to read about it before you do it. Otherwise I think it's pointless.

Well you have to exercise, but you can do so in different ways like taking up a dance class or playing a sport like tennis.  Remember, exercise and eating healthily are the key to losing weight.  There's no way to skirt around it.  But don't try to decrease your calorie (1200 is the recommended amount of calories a woman should eat a day)  intake because that can lead to an eating disorder.  Always stay healthy.  Good luck!

  18. u hate working out u should not eat  or go on a program if u go on a program u can eat how much u want and lose weight if u don't  u can only have a  block of cheese.

  23. The only healthy way to lose weight is diet and excercise. I know working out is not always fun, but you just have to do it. Especially as you get older. Your metabolism will keep slowing down and you will keep gaining weight. Eat lean meat, whole grains, fruits, and veggies and do at least 30 minutes of cardio 4-5 days a week and you will probably lose weight. I know because I have struggled with losing weight for a long time and it is finally working for me! A good way to jump start losing weight is the South Beach Diet. If you follow this diet you can lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks. It really works, I'm on it right now!

  25. Well first you should determine what your frame size is, just because you're 5'3 doesn't mean you don't have a large frame. If you can wrap your fingers  (middle finger and thumb) around your wrist then you're small framed. If you can touch your fingers then you're medium and not at all, you are large framed. For a small frame you should weigh 111-124 medium 121-135 and large 131-147. That might help and you might not need to lose weight at all.

    As far as the working out, there is no getting around it. There are fun ways to work out, such as rollerblading, swimming, dancing, yoga and pilate's are a lot of fun too. It's hard, but makes you flexible and that's always a plus.

    Your eating may be a factor also, for your age range you should be eating 1700-2000 calories, in 5-6 small meals. By eating less you could be making things harder by slowing your metabolism down. Make sure to drink lots of water and eat your fruits and veggies!! Hope this helps ;)~

I truly believe it's natural for girls to be a little overweight because of the make up of females anatomy.  So fret so much that you're overweight if it's not danger to your health.  Just continue to eat good and do a lot of walking if you don't like to excercise.  It's the best for your body. Try to walk at least 20 min everyday or every other day.  And most of a all skip sugar even if it means skipping that sweet and sour chicken or pork.  Get my point.  Most food have sugar in it so try to avoid it as much as possible.  Also, try to do away without Mayonaise in all your sandwiches!  When ordering pasta try not to order white cream sauce and stick with tomato sauce instead.  Anything creamy and sugar will make you gain weight!
