I want to lose weight by walking my dog everyday. Is this possible with time and a healthy diet?

I really want to lose weight. My dog is a little overweight too. Only five pounds though for my dog. I want to make us both healthier. I want to just walk him everyday and lose weight. Is this possible?Also with a healthy diet.

  1. The most important factor contributing to your weight problem is what food you eat. While the amount of food need to be moderated, the type of food you take determines your weight.


  2. You'll probably be discouraged if you're trying to lose weight with your dog. In theory it sounds like a good idea, but dogs get dehydrated easily.

    People sweat fat, but dogs do not have that same advantage.

    Go for brisk jogs everyday and put your dog on some diet doggy food.

    Edit: A thirty minute walk will probably exhaust your dog. But a thirty minute walk won't do anything for you losing weight.

  4. What I did was to go to google earth and mesure a mile out around my neighborhood and walk my dog around it, that way you know how far you'r going. That way you can't cheat. Yes it works, after that mesure 2 miles out then you can really kick.

Totally! dogs run fast which will also keep you busy.. today im a fit person but last year, i was very discouraged. to my surprise, excersise and dieting really works but be careful with dieting.. you can eat what ever you want but be cautious about the amount :) also try doing strethcing such as push ups, situp, touching your toes everyday in the morning, this really helps. Good luck!
