current: 5'5/172 lbs.

okay, so i've been working out since the end of june and i've lost around 10 pounds. in the first few weeks, i would slack a little and some days i wouldn't do it or talk myself out of it.

but lately, i've been determined and exercising for five days, 45 minutes of cardio/walking. i eat pretty well and i try to stay at a steady calorie intake.

am i losing weight at a good pace?

if so/not, can you offer any kind of exercises that i could add into my work out?

thank you! :D

  1. thats great!

your going at a pace, where if you decide to take a break one day or a binge day you will hardly gain the weight off because youve lost weight the healthy way

  2. Your pace is wonderful...In this country as it is, any pace is an awesome pace...Who is to say there is a good pace?...As long as you're losing and you're happy paces are irrelevant! Good Job! :]

  3. SWIMMING! it really burns callories and isnt that tiring! its one of the few sports that u dont sweat .... or atleast see that ur sweating!

  4. you have a good work out plan and when you eat just watch how many calories you eat a day and eat foods like yogurt that speed up your metabolism

    good luck

  5. It has been proven that you can lose 40 pounds in 90 days. If you want to lose weight you should find a way to avoid any thing that will infuence you to be counter productive. Its good that you have implemented a healthy diet and exercise routien that will give you what you want,

also you could try fat burning supplements such as lipo 6.

all in all its totally up to you.

  6. try this...oh and ur BMI is 28.8 is u get 30 or more in obesity. so u better start losing weight fast!!

  7. thats actually not bad. try the 6 week body makeover plan. my mom lost 9 pounds in the first week. you can order it off an infomercial or online. but it makes you eat 5 times a day, which raises your metabolism and burns fat. you also customize your eating and excercise plan(comes in the kit) by taking a survey and matching your body type to these card things. its really cool and i've heard alot of people love it. good luck!

  8. I think you are doing fine.  The one minor suggestion I offer is to extend the 45 minutes to 55 minutes.  I think we are always "tweaking" our program to fit our new circumstances.  In your case, you have lost 10 pounds and are now have a body that is a more efficient  machine.   Hope that does not sound corny.  Lastly, if you would think diet plan as a health plan it may be a positive for you on those days that you would like to skip.   You are winning and deserve credit and I feel like you are going to surprise yourself over time.  It is my personal view that make a program like yours a lifetime project and not just a temporary weight loss program.  Keep the faith!

  9. East six small measl throutout the day rather then thee big ones....dont east after 6 pm ,,,,,,,and drink losts of water ....and NO juice or caffine then  exersise with Jack http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKCGe2Ezr...

  10. When I'm working out and stop loosing weight as fast I shock my body by doing something different like instead of running go swim or pick it up a pace when your running do palates they work good to. You need to change it up so your body don't get to used to the routine  your doing and when you change it up it also help your metabolism. Good luck and keep up the good work!

  11. I saw this product called Acai Berry on Oprah the other week.. Looked like all the other diet scams, but I went for it and ordered a 14-day free trial from this site.. And guess what, it really works!! I'm so happy I've already lost weight, gotten more energy and my stomach is flatter than ever!

  12. Sounds like a great pace!

And if you stop losing a lot of wait, you will probably start to gain some solid muscle :).

Keep doing what you're doing, and you should be VERY HEALTHY!!

    =]

  13. I would say that it seems like you are losing weight at a pretty healthy pace. Good for you! I personally know how hard it is to lose weight. The Firm products are what helped me lose weight. And of course my calorie intake was not more than I could burn in a day. I would say it seems pretty good what you are doing... keep up the good work, it will pay off!

  14. 10lbs is an excellent pace since June!  Good job!

Just remember that calories in minus calories out equate to you gaining or losing weight.  However, if you drastically lower your calories in, you will end up hurting your long term goals by going into starvation mode.

You can figure out roughly what your BMR is by many different calculators online.

Once you get that, you need to figure out your normal activity and add it to your BMR.

Then finally, add your exercise calories.

If you are not eating enough calories based on your current weight and activity level, you will end up burning muscle instead of fat (your ultimate goal).  Burning muscle hurts you cause you will lower your metabolism and burn less calories in a day!  It takes work for your body to keep muscle (repairing it and building it), so it is the first to go if your body thinks its not getting enough calories!

Try going to www.myfitnesspal.com the forum on there has excellent advice and the whole program does a really good in helping you be away of how many calories your putting in and how many you should be burning off!

EDIT - Justin... there are good paces and BAD paces of losing weight!  The goals is to lose fat!!! Not muscle!
